What is biomass ?
Not a fossil fuel, biomass is an organic substance with biological roots made of tailings, such as logging residue (sawdust, shavings, billets). Biomass is used by industry to produce energy.

Biomass is a long lasting, renewable fuel that has almost no effect on climat changes when its combustion is managed efficiently. Moreover, because the biomass is re-newable, it can easily last indefinitely. Biomass is also being perceived, more and more, as a competitive source of energy with both environmental and economical advantages.
One of its main advantages is the fact that the production cost for energy produced with biomass is lower than the production cost for energy produced with any other kind of fuel. Our studies show that energy produced with biomass is approximately four times more economical than any other possible method. Another advantage is that instead of paying to dispose of the residues produced, your company can use them to generate more energy, lowering costs and increasing gains on two fronts!
Biomass combustion is recommended by the federal government. In fact, Canada Natural Resources has already published several articles on the benefits related to this type of combustion.
